CBSA confirms dumping determination on concrete reinforcing bar from three countries

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced it terminated the dumping investigation in respect of concrete reinforcing bar exported from Thailand by Thai Steel Profile Public Company Limited, as the goods were not dumped.

However, the CBSA has made a final determination of dumping concerning concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from Bulgaria, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates, for all other exporters for which the dumping investigation has not been terminated.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision by January 13, 2025.

Provisional duties will continue to be imposed on the subject goods from Bulgaria, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates until the CITT renders its decision.

However, provisional duties will no longer be imposed on imports of goods for which the dumping investigation have been terminated.
